My inspiration for this painting came from something someone said about feet. As I began applying paint to canvas, I knew I wanted to push it a little further and explore the idea of a foot fetish. The figures, colors, and other decisions made in this painting were completely intuitive. My original title was going to be "Man with a Foot Fetish and His Bendy Lover" or possibly "Sole Mates."

Instead, I chose "Something's Afoot" as it felt more playful and mischievous.
