This was an intuitive painting, although I did plan on painting a hand on a face. These are challenging. It's difficult to get a hand "right;" therefore, I intentionally get it wrong....that's easier. I often paint hands that are too big with fingers too long or crooked. I believe it makes the painting more interesting. I love how her face turned out. I think she looks sort of sassy. I was experimenting with the blue shading and it worked so I kept it.
