Girl Smelling a Pink Flower

When I began painting this, my only plan was to paint a girl's profile. For me, painting a profile is more difficult than a face looking toward the viewer and I enjoy the challenge. I didn't plan on her eyes being closed until it happened and I liked it. Once they were closed, I felt like she needed a reason, which lead me to the flower she is smelling. Lastly, I adorned her hair with a wreath of yellow and pink flowers to bring it all together. I quite like her simplicity and softness.
