This piece began as a still life. It was a demonstration painting used to show a friend how to work with oils. It sat untouched for a while because I really had no idea what to do with it. I liked the cup so I decided to paint some people in it. I was going to title it "A Cup of Love" or "Love in a Cup." A friend suggested the title I ended up using. I think it's perfect.
